What to Visit

Celorico da Beira is a Portuguese village with about 4620 inhabitants (2011). It belongs to the district of Guarda, Central region and sub-region of Beira Interior Norte.

It is located 23 km from Guarda, 48 km from Viseu and 334 km from Lisbon. It is also the county to the north of Serra da Estrela, and for the quantity and quality of 'Queijo da Serra da Estrela' (incomparable to any other location in the country), is considered the capital of Serra da Estrela cheese.

Nearby, you must visit the historic village of Linhares da Beira, well preserved with medieval traces, as well as the village of Fornotelheiro, with its Roman necropolis, and the village of Açores, where takes place a feast called «Festa do Senhor do Açor» , one of the greatest pilgrimages of the region.

The municipality has also good conditions for the practice of outdoor sports, including mountaineering, sports all terrain, paragliding, hunting and fishing.
